This group is dedicated to: - learning why bees need help (they are disappearing) - how to keep bees in urban environments - beekeeping in authorized public and private spaces - bee outreach and education - potlucks and celebrations around bees - community outreach - honey!

Beekeeping is quickly growing on Shelter Island, and we thought it would be helpful to get together from time to time. This Group will be a place to share ideas, contact one another for tips and support, and be a "go to" group when there is a swarm to rescue. We also welcome members who are thinking about getting hives and want to talk to other beekeepers on the Island.
